A Case of Campylobacter fetus subsp. Fetus septicemia

Abstract

|
The genus Campylobacter is slender, curved, motile gram-negative rod. Campylobacter fetus subsp, fetus infection in man is a rare disease, and causes extraintestinal infections such as septicemia in patients with various underlying diseases. We
isolated
the organism from blood specimens of a 56-year-old woman with liver cirrhosis and intra-hepatic duct stone.
Clinical status of the patient and bacteriologic characteristics of the isolate were presented with literature review.
